About Us

The Malaria Prophylaxis Initiative (MPI) is an international collaborative partnership between for-profit and non-profit organizations dedicated to combating insect-borne disease through technology.  Although our roots are in Sub-Sahara Africa, our goal of combating malaria and other vector-borne diseases such as dengue fever (and resultant hemorrhagic fever) and lymphatic filariasis applies to all mosquito-endemic regions of the world where these diseases flourish.

Our approach to combating these diseases builds on a new methodology which has shown itself to be effective in efficacy studies conducted in different locales in Liberia and Ghana with varied populations: mosquito and insect-avoidant patches.  The patches employ the highly-regarded transdermal route of administration, are non-toxic and are safe for use by children and adults.

Thank you for your interest in our program.
